Do I need a dance partner?
Not at all. Many of our visitors come on their own. La Bachata is all about connecting through dance, and you’ll quickly find people to dance with throughout the event.
Can beginners join?
Absolutely! Whether you’re taking your very first steps or you’ve been dancing for years, dancers of all levels are welcome at La Bachata.
What music can I expect?
Expect mostly authentic Dominican bachata throughout the event, carefully selected by DJs who understand and respect the roots of the music and culture. To keep the energy alive, we also play merengue, salsa and other Caribbean sounds from time to time
What should I wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to dance freely. As La Bachatarde takes place on a beautiful wooden rooftop terrace rather than a dedicated dance floor, we advise against wearing high heels or professional dance shoes. Comfortable sneakers or flat shoes are the best choice for an enjoyable afternoon of dancing.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes, if tickets are still available, you can purchase your ticket at the door using cash or card. However, we recommend buying your ticket in advance to guarantee your spot and avoid disappointment.
Where is La Bachatarde taking place?
La Bachatarde takes place at Brisa Rooftop, located on top of the iconic IKON Antwerp. Access to the rooftop is through the main entrance of IKON. Enjoy authentic Dominican bachata with breathtaking city views at one of Belgium’s most unique rooftop venues.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes! Free public parking is available around IKON Antwerp. Please make sure to park only in the designated parking spaces and follow the local parking regulations. Brisa Rooftop is located on top of IKON Antwerp, so you can simply enter through the main entrance of IKON to access the rooftop.
What happens if it rains?
Don’t worry! Brisa Rooftop features covered areas with large tents, so the event can continue comfortably in light rain. In the unlikely event of severe weather, we have access to one of the indoor areas at IKON Antwerp, ensuring the La Bachatarde experience can continue regardless of the weather.
